Walt Disney World uses date-based pricing, so the cost depends on the exact days you visit. A single-day base ticket to one park typically starts around $119 to $154 per adult on lower-demand dates, while multi-day tickets bring the per-day cost down. Peak periods around holidays, spring break, and summer cost more. We price your exact dates before you commit to anything.
A base ticket admits you to one Disney theme park per day. A Park Hopper ticket lets you visit more than one park on the same day, subject to park reservation availability and park hopping hours. Park Hopper is useful for guests who want to combine EPCOT dining with a morning at another park, or who want to catch nighttime spectaculars at a different park.
Generally no. Per Disney's terms and conditions, theme park tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable once purchased. Unused tickets typically retain their value and can be applied toward a future ticket purchase. This is one of the reasons to book through an advisor: if your plans change, we help you apply the value of unused tickets toward new dates where possible, and we recommend travel protection for vacation packages.
No. Disneyland Resort in California and Walt Disney World in Florida are separate resorts with separate ticket systems. Tickets purchased for one resort cannot be used at the other. Each resort also has its own reservation system, hotel benefits, and dining reservation windows.
Buy in advance. Disney's online pricing is typically lower than gate pricing, advance purchase lets you use mobile tickets and head straight to the entrance, and date-based pricing means popular days can sell at higher rates the longer you wait. Booking through CCTA costs the same as booking direct, and we watch for new promotions after you book.
Disney moved to date-based pricing for Lightning Lane Multi Pass at Walt Disney World. Prices typically start around $25 to $35 per person, per day, and can rise significantly on peak dates. Disneyland still offers Genie+ as a flat add-on in advance, though prices also vary by date. Single Pass attractions for top-tier rides are priced separately and limited to two unique rides per day.
Lightning Lane Multi Pass lets you pre-book return windows for a list of participating attractions at one or more parks. Lightning Lane Single Pass is an a la carte purchase for a specific high-demand ride, such as TRON Lightcycle Run, Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, or Rise of the Resistance. Single Pass is limited to two unique attractions per day.
Yes. Guests staying at a Disney Resort hotel at Walt Disney World can purchase Lightning Lane Multi Pass and Single Pass up to seven days before their stay, and can make their first selections up to seven days in advance. Off-site guests can purchase and plan up to three days in advance. This early access can make a meaningful difference for popular rides.
It depends on your dates and priorities. On peak days, headline rides can post waits of 60 to 120 minutes, and Lightning Lane can significantly increase how much your family experiences. On quiet weekdays in lower-crowd seasons, standby waits are often short enough that the add-on adds little value. This is the kind of date-specific math we do when planning your trip.
Disney Resort hotel guests receive early theme park entry, typically 30 minutes before official opening, and can book Lightning Lane selections and dining reservations earlier than off-site guests. They also receive complimentary transportation to the parks and Disney Springs, and can charge purchases to their room. Disney's Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villa Resorts offer extended evening hours on select nights at select parks.
For many families, on-site Disney Resort hotels win once you factor in early entry, extended evening hours at Deluxe properties, earlier Lightning Lane and dining booking windows, and complimentary transportation. Off-site hotels can cost less per night and offer larger suites, but add transportation time and parking fees. Standard self-parking at Disney World theme parks is currently around $30 per day for cars and motorcycles. Preferred parking is priced higher. Disney Resort hotel guests do not pay for standard overnight self-parking at their resort, and day guests visiting Disney Springs can park for free.
Advanced dining reservations open 60 days in advance for all guests. Disney Resort hotel guests can book for their entire stay, up to 10 days, at the 60-day mark. Off-site guests can book one day at a time, 60 days out. Popular restaurants such as Chef Mickey's, Cinderella's Royal Table, and Space 220 often fill quickly, so booking right at the window is important.
Disney periodically offers dining plans as an add-on to Walt Disney World vacation packages. When available, plans include a set number of quick-service and table-service meals and snacks per night of stay. Availability and pricing change, so we confirm current options when quoting your package.
Yes. Disney allows guests to bring snacks and food that do not require heating, as well as non-alcoholic beverages in non-glass containers. Glass containers and alcohol are not permitted, with exceptions for small baby food jars. Coolers must be smaller than 24 inches long, 15 inches wide, and 18 inches high.
Disney's cancellation terms depend on how and when you booked. Walt Disney World vacation packages typically allow a full refund if cancelled 30 days or more before arrival, with penalties increasing closer to arrival. Disney Cruise Line has its own cancellation schedule based on sailing length. Disney also has a hurricane policy that allows guests to cancel or reschedule certain packages when a hurricane warning is issued for the Orlando area or the guest's home area within a set window. Most families need four to five park days to cover Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom comfortably, plus a rest or Disney Springs day. Shorter trips are workable with Park Hopper tickets and a focused itinerary. Disneyland Resort typically needs two to three days and pairs well with other Southern California attractions.

We recommend 9 to 12 months out for Walt Disney World and Disney Cruise Line, and 6 to 9 months for Disneyland or Aulani. Booking early locks in preferred resort categories, Concierge staterooms, and the best dining reservations at the 60-day mark. Last-minute trips are still possible, but choice may be limited.
