A Quieter, More Personal Ship

We sailed the Holland America Nieuw Statendam in February 2026 on a seven-night Caribbean itinerary visiting Jamaica, the Bahamas, and Grand Cayman.

This ship instantly felt like the right fit for travelers who want something quieter, more personal, and genuinely social in the best sense of the word. There is a warmth and a communal feel on this ship that is rare. You see people actually connecting rather than rushing from activity to activity.

The Nieuw Statendam is best for travelers who want a peaceful, refined ocean cruise experience with genuine human connection, beautiful Caribbean ports, and exceptional dining.
